Bolton TUC offer our solidarity and support to GMB members at British gas as they announce an additional five days of industrial action over the firm’s threat to Fire & Rehire on poorer pay. Trade unionists will take the next round of 24-hour strikes on January 20th and continue on January 22nd, 25th, 29th and 1st February.
British Gas is part of the Centrica who had an operating profit of £900 million in 2019
The practice of Fire & Rehire is a direct attack upon the terms and conditions of the workforce built up over many years and Bolton TUC see this attempt to Fire & Rehire as opportunistic and call upon British Gas to take the pay cuts off the table
